See Airport Improvements Happening in Charlotte/Douglas International

Charlotte Douglas International Airport will open its new 90,000-square-foot expansion of the existing main terminal, which first opened in 1982. The expanded terminal will offer passengers more space on the ticketing and baggage levels as well as a new underground tunnel that connects the terminal to hourly parking and rental car areas.

Passengers at Charlotte Douglas International Airport will begin to see door and parking lot closures related to construction of the $600 million terminal lobby expansion, airport officials said. The five-year lobby expansion is part of a larger, $2.5 billion to $3.1 billion capital investment project to accommodate passenger growth through 2035.
