Winnebago County’s Wittman Regional Airport will get $7.5 million from federal regulators to improve the safety and efficiency of one of its major taxiways.
The Federal Aviation Administration awarded the county an Airport Improvement Program Discretionary grant to rebuild Taxiway A, which serves the airport’s main north-south runway throughout the year and becomes a second north-south runway during the Experimental Aircraft Association’s annual fly-in convention.
