Port Authority has approved $445 million in funding for roadway, taxiway, terminal and gate improvements at John F. Kennedy International Airport, as well as $2.1 billion each to LaGuardia Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport for AirTrains.
Construction for the AirTrains is expected to begin in 2021 and be completed in 2024 according to Port Authority officials.
$35 million for a new terminal at Newark Airport was also approved. Construction on the terminal to replace Terminal A has already begun at Newark.
