Travelers United President Charlie Leocha writes that the recently commissioned RAND report failed to provide an accurate assessment of airport funding and lacked passenger input in its final study while advocating to an increase in the Passenger Facility Charge.
Instead of a lack of funds, “the continued rise in passenger traffic increases airport income,” allowing airports to “have more funding for airport infrastructure” and billion dollar surpluses for federal airports.
