Ormond Beach Municipal Airport Receives a Grant of Over $3 Million to Extend Runway, Add Lights

Thanks to a grant of over $3 million, the Ormond Beach Municipal Airport will extend its most used runway, and in turn increase business in the coastal city.

Steven Lichliter, manager of Ormond Beach Municipal Airport, said extending the eastern runway by 1,000 feet will improve the safety and efficiency of airport operations

The FAA grant, which covers 90% of the cost to extend the runway and adding lighting, will be used in conjunction with money from the city as well as a forthcoming grant from the Florida Department of Transportation.
