A $3.4 million federal grant will allow the Pitt-Greenville Airport to improve service for privately owned and corporate aircraft, the facility’s executive director said.

The airport will rehabilitate and expand the general aviation apron, the “parking area” near the hangers and terminals for the 70 privately owned aircraft that are housed locally along with corporate aircraft that flies into Greenville, said Bill Hopper, Pitt-Greenville Airport executive director.
