Boarding bridge could soon come to Albany, Ga., airport

The days of walking to your plane in the rain or cold at the Southwest Georgia Regional Airport could soon be over … The bridge will cost $1.6 million. If the project is approved, it will be funded mostly by federal aviation funds, and 10 percent will come from the passenger facility charge.

Nashville Approves $327-Million Airport Expansion

Nashville officials have approved a $327 million plan to renovate the terminal at Nashville International Airport and add a new international arrivals facility. Construction on the largest component of the ongoing BNA Vision project will begin in fall of 2019 and is expected to be completed by late 2023.

Billions for the Future of Flying

With a humming U.S. economy and airlines making money, the nation’s airports are making some overdue improvements. Capital spending at U.S. airports grew by 24% to $12.7 billion in 2017 from the previous year, according to Federal Aviation Administration data, the biggest increase since at least 2010.
