Greater Binghamton Airport, which will be temporarily down to two flights a day this winter, will get $6.5 million from the federal government for improvements.

The funding was allocated through the U.S. Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Improvement Program. Money will be used to build a new taxiway by rehabilitating and connecting two existing taxiways.

Since 2017, Greater Binghamton Airport has received nearly $23 million in federal grants for improvements.
