The small Milton, Fla., airport plans to increase from 115 to 128 hangars around the 3,701-foot runway. Ten more hangars are also planned to be constructed in the future.

The nearly $1.2 million project is the latest major improvement to the public general aviation airport owned by Santa Rosa County.

The airfield has received about $13 million in upgrades since 1989, including about $3.2 million since 2017. Much of the money for the airport comes from the Federal Aviation Administration and the Florida Department of Transportation.
