The Marion Airport in Iowa is getting a $1.7 million upgrade to widen the runway from 23 feet to 60 feet to meet the standards of a basic service airport by the Department of Transportation.
The city received a grant from the Iowa Department of Transportation for $424,000. The rest of the cost will be covered by city bonds.
