Gov. David Ige released $40.4 million in state funding for terminal improvements at Kona International Airport aimed to increase capacity, efficiency and security for passengers. The new terminal design will consolidate and centralize the two main terminals and security checkpoints, expediting passenger flow.
Additionally, in 2019, the airport has also received over $8 million in FAA airport improvement grants.
