A new $7.5 million grant will help the Fayetteville Regional Airport with its ongoing renovation and expansion, officials said.

The money will help pay for $26 million in planned improvements to the main terminal building, said Bradley Whited, the airport director. The building is to be extended 8 feet, have extensive interior remodeling, get new escalators and get a modern exterior facade to replace the existing face. The front of the building is little changed from when it was built in 1969.
