Airport Commission, staff, with assistance of Former state Department of Transportation and Development Secretary, Kam Movassaghi voted to approve the bid to construct Lafayette’s newest airport terminal.

The new building will be 120,000-square feet (twice the size of the current one), holding two TSA lanes with an option for a third and five gates, with an option of adding two additional, after the old terminal is torn down.

The building alone will cost roughly $90 million dollars, with a combination of federal/state grants that are being used, as well as allocated funds.
