A big construction project is coming to Eisenhower National Airport in Wichita.

The pavement of the airport’s two parallel runways will be repaired and replaced, along with updating the aging electrical system. Thanks to changes in the earth’s magnetic field, all three of the airport’s runways will be re-designated.

90% of the cost will be paid by a grant from the FAA. Mayor Jeff Longwell says local tax payers won’t have to foot the bill for the rest of the project’s cost.
